1.  We discovered some new educational tools, saw people who were very passionate about improvement of instruction, and saw instructional tool used in new ways.

2.  We learned what current research suggests that a collaboratively classroom actually is.  We learned that many students, staff and administrators did not know how to utilize schoolloop fully.

3.  We see the need for trainings via SLC or such for schoolloop and other educational items.

Showcase Supplies?

I don't see any requests for supplies for the Showcase presentation.  If you are needing something, please see Dr. Cheryl Wright by Nov 30th.  We will still try to get you what you need.

Today we worked on our survey to measure the impact our efforts.

PLC Showcase

At the end of our semester of work, all PLCs will be showcasing their work at the Wyandotte High School PLC Showcase on Wednesday, December 12th in the Social Hall.  The showcase will be a public demonstration of our learning, collaboration, and results.  Each PLC will showcase work that reflects how your learning and collaboration has impacted student learning.  Each PLC is encouraged to be creative and innovative in their demonstration (student examples would be highly encouraged); however, please be sure the following are addressed through your presentation -

In addition, all staff will have an opportunity to visit each demonstration during the Showcase.  Many outside guests will also be in attendance.  

If your PLC requires any kind of additional resources, please submit any requests for those materials via the comment section to this blog entry by NOVEMBER 9th. You will receive these materials by or before your November 28th meeting, so you will have AT LEAST two weeks to work on organizing your demonstration.

Today we focused on using technology to bridge the distance between teachers and students in order to build stronger relationships.  We talked about which medium to use, and we all came back to wanting to utilize the features of School Loop more fully. 

We looked at School Loop webpages and experimented with personalizing our own webpages.

Today we learned how to use the apple tv with the ipad in a classroom.

Today in our PLC we talked about the improvement of collaborative instruction through the use of technology.  We investigated Edublogs for student blogging and collaborative planning.  After much discussion of the multitude of options available, we decided to refocus on making better use of School Loop.  We discussed how we used the dropbox and discussion options and will try to extend our use of these options.
